March minutes - not voted on due to board members asking for some comments from discussion be added. Jay Burghardt added them on the Monday afterwards, and then the board voted on and approved them, via email.
Jamie gave the board the current number of sold and confirmed tags at 271.
Jamie spoke about tag matches getting ready to start going. He said he was very pleased with his Tagmasters, and had a little gathering where he picked up the tab for food and drink of those in attendance as a thank you for the upcoming tag season, and to go over what he was expecting from them this year. The board asked him to submit his receipts, and would be happy to reimburse.
He also mentioned that he has not been entering the information from members this year, due to how much work was involved and how little time he has. The board noted that it would not be a problem for members who are already in the system, but new members should be logged, so we have a contact information for all of our members when we choose to send out club wide emails. He said he would work on that.
Financials - Were sent out in a new (and I might add, very sharp) format, with a single tab for each line item, to keep better track of certain funds, such as Junior, course, ect.
Financials were voted on and approved
No current website updates at this time
Past - Ice Bowl - Jay spoke of the Ice Bowl/Winter Warriors numbers so far - He said there was $21,697 confirmed so far, with another $8,000 or so, waiting to be confirmed, and expects our total number to be over $30,000 this year.
April 8th was set to confirm for the check presentation and tour, but shortly after, confirmed it for April 14th. Jay said he would get an "event" posted to see who would like to join us at the Food Bank for the check presentation.
Winter Fling - Kyle said registration went well - tourney is full and already 22 on the waitlist
Future - It was noted that there will be 12 - 13 Match Play events running across the state as qualifiers for a nation wide Match Play event.
Women's Global is scheduled for May12th - Ray spoke of this and said he will be offering every division that is out there in hope of attracting any ladies who care to play. He said he is working with Carla and Throw Pink.
Spring Fling - Kyle spoke of this event and said all is going good. Registration will be opening soon with the Pros registration opening first, and then the Am side.
High Plains Challenge - not much news at this time but to confirm it is Fri - Sun, on June 15 - 17th.
Course issues - none at this time
New Business - Ray, Tashi and Jeremy, let the board know they had a meeting with a CPA about the Club and it's finances. The CPA has encouraged the Club to file taxes, to avoid the possibility of the IRS coming after the Club for back taxes that might be owed, due to how much money the club brings in each year, and not as a 501 status club. Also, and perhaps more importantly, they could come for those back taxes, from Ray Woodruff, as his name is currently attached to the Mile High Disc Golf Club name.
It has been recommended the club hire an attorney to start putting together what will be needed to obtain 501 status. It is estimated that this will cost in the neighborhood of $2850 to cover this, and the board feels this is necessary as our club becomes bigger, with more members, and more money running through its books. If the Club can get this status, it will help shield the board members, and especially Ray, from something like this.
